Enoliexpo: the ideal venue for translating measures to support vineyards, wineries, and markets into investments
With wine production increasingly focused on quality, Puglia and other regions of southern Italy are preparing to host the seventh edition of Enoliexpo (March 19-21, 2026). The international fair, hosted at the Fiera del Levante in Bari, confirms its position as the strategic hub for technologies and services dedicated to the wine and olive oil supply chains.
The event comes at a crucial moment: the latest ISTAT data confirm the resilience of the wine sector. Apulia recorded a production of 8.1 million hectoliters (up 17% on the previous year), consolidating its role as the “wine cellar of Italy” with particular regard to red wines, but also showing interesting growth in the rosé and white wine segments. All this with a steadily rising average quality (+50% growth in the IGT segment and strong growth also for DOC wines), which is attracting the interest of global markets. There are certainly critical issues, linked to the decline in consumption and the consequent increase in stocks, not to mention the impact of US tariffs.
In this context, two important pieces of news have arrived ahead of the exhibition: on the one hand, the European wine package introducing measures for simplification, greater transparency, and new tools for managing market crises; on the other hand, the allocation of ministerial resources for the 2026/2027 wine campaign, which amount to almost 30 million for Puglia alone.
EnoliExpo is the ideal place to translate available public funding into investments, both for interventions in the field with measures aimed at restructuring and converting vineyards, and for promotion with CMO Wine calls for proposals.
This is also because, among the more than 200 exhibitors present, there are leading companies in the field of machinery and equipment for vineyard management, with precision farming and sensor systems, companies specializing in the latest generation of wine-making machinery for wineries, as well as end-of-line packaging characterized by smart labeling, eco-sustainable materials, and high-speed bottling systems.
With exhibition spaces reaching a new record in terms of overall size and a conference area where industry issues will be addressed in seminars organized by Assoenologi and trade associations, Enoliexpo in Bari is not just a commercial showcase, but a hub of knowledge. And in a market where quality tout court is no longer an option but a necessity, even at the cost of sacrificing quantity, the fair becomes an opportunity to offer producers the technical tools for investments aimed at creating added value in the name of full sustainability.
